The relevance of research. Plants are capable of synthesizing thousands phenolic compounds. Among them, flavonoids play an important role in processes of growth and development, immunity and adaptation of plants. Many phytoalexins and allelochemicals are flavonoid in nature. Possessing a wide range of pharmacological activity, flavonoids are used in medicine as choleretic, hepatoprotective, antiulcer, capillary strengthening agents. Successful combination low toxicity and high pharmacological activity makes them extremely promising for use in medical practice for the prevention and treatment of a number of serious diseases. In recent years among them, a number of substances with antitumor, hypoazotemic and tonic properties.
